We are proud of our equipment. As the only true USCG Inspected Vessels (CFR subchapter T) in Ninilchik, our big boats far exceed the safety requirements of six pack boats that advertise five star uninspected vessel ratings. All our four ocean boats have enclosed cabins and bathroom facilities on board. Our river drift boats are custom built for Alaskan salmon fishing by Hyde Boat Company and Willie Boats.
The “Hard Eight” is the first inspected vessel to operate in these waters. It is licensed for 10 persons plus crew (although usually we will only place eight for halibut fishing). We now take out those office parties and large families in one boat! It is a 32 foot by 10 foot aluminum-hulled cruiser with state-of-the-art Furuno integrated electronics and all the latest safety gear including life rafts. This boat is powered with twin 250hp Mercury Verados.
The “Exciter” is the second of our custom built 32 foot inspected vessels. Like the Hard Eight, it is Coast Guard inspected and approved for 10 persons, although we carry 8. It is equipped with the same electronics package as Hard Eight and is also powered by twin 250hp Mercury Verado motors.
The “Voyageur” is our third and newest custom-built 32 foot inspected vessel. A sistership to our two other subchapter “T” inspected boats, it is likewise certified to carry 10 persons plus a crew of two. As our flagship, it has impressive twin 300hp Mercury Verado engines and Furuno navigation.
The “Afishunt II” is a custom-built 28 foot by 9 foot ALMAR Sounder model. We designed it exactly for fishing in these waters. It is beautiful, sleek, fast, and comfortable- the queen of the six-pack fleet in Deep Creek. It is approved for six persons plus a crew of two. It is equipped with VHF and CB radios, Furuno radar, Garmin GPS, and Furuno sounder. It is powered by a pair of 225hp Mercury Verado outboard motors.
The drift boats we use on the Kasilof River are custom-built for this drift-only fishing. They hold four clients, plus the guide. The equipment and tackle are specially designed to aid in river fishing, making it accessible to expert as well as novice fishermen.
